Marine geoinformatics

Hi I am the writer of this blog. Abdullah Habibi is my given name, I do not have a family name. Please think negatively about this, you have to know that we, Indonesians, are not using the given and family name system. I’ll take as a compliment if people link my name with the former president of Indonesia –which is also one of the most genius men in the world–, but I’ll really appreciate if you do not do that. I was born in small suburb area of Semarang, enjoyed public schools from elementary level until master degree. At the same time, I also studied and lived in different Islamic boarding school from elementary level until bachelor degree. Instead of turning myself to be a Moslem militant, I become a man with maturity, think moderately and have the ability to balance my life between faith and science.

My childhood was in Kendal, a northern coast district in Central Java province of Indonesia. The beautiful memory of fishing in the mangroves, help my father harvesting milk fish, and walking on the sand with my family when I was child make me really passionated with the coastal and marine environment with its diversity. Hence, I prefer to focus in marine environment; as I want to manage it in a sustainable way so my descent may see the diversity richness in the future..

That was a really short version of me in two paragraph. But, I believe people will ask me why should I mention all that things in this blog? And why blog? I was think that Blog is only for teen, at first. Then I realize that blog is bigger than that. People can share their finding, thought and meet each other in this system. This blog is intended to be a space for myself, for me to share ideas for the world, and I hope I can moderate people to share their idea in this blog as well.
